Hi - before Chris took off for a few days away he and I discussed a few Key Note Speaker ideas. Here is one more for the list. She is Polio focused in Pakistan. Having a thread re polio may also help at the Summit given that polio eradication is (kind of ) near so we should have at least some focus on what has worked from a social and behaviour change, communication and media development perspective - and there is lots to contribute on that theme.

The person Chris suggested is Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq, Prime Minister's Focal Person on Polio Eradication in Pakistan. Here is a link to an interview she did with GPEI.

From Chris: "As I said in my note she's a female politician in Pakistan, really grasps the important role that communication has played in a tense, highly charged political arena, has been able to advocate for polio in her country and internationally and is a leading and highly competent female politician in an Islamic country.

Rafael – Hi – apologies for being late to this party! A few comments

1. I had suggested Theo Sowa – outlined the reasons here

2. We had also suggested Senator Raza Farooq, Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Polio Eradication, Government of Pakistan

3. There were other ideas submitted by people in this thread

4. Plus let me add one other option, building on one of James’s comments in the course of a Sec mtg. I would propose that one person from each of the Secretariat orgs form a plenary panel of 5 people. From each of our different perspectives we all know this field really well. There will be plenty of space for outside and independent, “influentials”, policy makers and practitioners as key notes. But collectively – 12 minutes each – we would bring considerable added value.

Thanks – Warren

Rafael (and others involved) Hi - can you please let know where we are at with the key note speaker invites? Had asked to be cc'ed on the 3 from the 6 agreed where we had supportive contacts we could mobilise and/or knew the people personally but have seen nothing yet. TMaybe I missed them? Thanks - Warren
